Wellbeing at Pommerie
The Floatation Tank
Experience the profound stillness of weightlessness. Our private floatation suite offers a rare opportunity to disconnect from the outside world and drift into a state of deep sensory rest. With your own dedicated room to change and prepare, you can step into the water and let the rhythm of the land fade away as you find a deeper level of calm.
The high concentration of epsom salts allows the body to float weightlessly, taking pressure off muscles, joints, ligaments, and tendons. This can help ease pains such as backache and support recovery from old injuries. By freeing our brain and musculoskeletal system from gravity, floating liberates vast amounts of energies to deal with matter of mind, spirit, and enhanced awareness of internal states. Floating sharpens interoception — our ability to sense internal signals like heartbeat and breathing, helping to still the mind, recalibrate and ease anxiety.
During a float, the brain shifts into slower theta wave patterns — the same state normally reached only through deep meditation. Floating offers a deep level of relaxation. In a gravity-free environment, with the senses at rest, the body is free to balance and heal itself. Research shows floating can help lower blood pressure, heart rate, and stress levels and improve sleep quality.

Rooted in a lifelong curiosity about wellbeing, returning to the countryside where I grew up inspired me to retrain as a sound practitioner and build a sanctuary for rest.
